The Gem Centre opened in April 2006 and brings together services provided by Royal Wolverhampton Hospital’s Trust, Black Country Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Wolverhampton City Council for children and young people.

Like many new buildings, some of the interior areas had large blank walls which needed sometime to give focus and to enliven the spaces.
The Tactile Tree and Octopus gives children the opportunity to physically engage with these pieces, as well as them visually enhancing the spaces.
